Geography Guide

Short, practical guides to the geography skills CityDrop actually rewards — written for people who want better guesses, not a textbook.

How to use this guide

A geography guessing game rewards two different skills: knowing where things are, and being able to work out where they probably are. The second one is the faster of the two to learn, and it is what most of this guide is about.

Start with the article that matches the mistakes you keep making. If your pins land in the wrong part of the world, read Understanding world regions. If you get the region right but the country wrong, borders and neighbours will help most. If you recognise a city's name but have no idea where to put it, city-name patterns is the place to begin.

Every article is written around how CityDrop scores you, so the advice translates straight into points rather than into trivia.

Prefer to learn by playing? Practice is unlimited and untimed, so you can replay the modes you find hardest and read the reveal screen after every round. How to Play explains the mechanics if you want them first.
Try a region you just read about.

Five rounds, 1,000 points each. No download and no account needed.
